The publication charge is USD 200 (KRW 200,000) per accepted article. The charge applies within the article-type page limits stated in the Author Guidelines: a maximum of 12 double-column main-text pages for a Regular Paper and 4 double-column main-text pages for a Brief Paper. JMIS does not apply an over-length page charge; a manuscript that exceeds the applicable limit is returned to the authors before peer review.
An additional USD 100 (KRW 100,000) applies to articles for which the reported research received institutional research funding. General acknowledgements for non-financial assistance, technical support, administrative help, or language editing do not trigger this additional charge.
This additional charge is determined by whether the research was funded, not by whether the authors disclose funding. Complete and accurate disclosure of every funding source is required of all submissions regardless of any charge, and a Funding statement must never be omitted, shortened, or altered in order to reduce fees. If a Funding statement is found to be incomplete or inaccurate, the article will be corrected and the applicable charge adjusted, and deliberate omission is handled as research and publication misconduct under the Research and Publication Ethics policy.
There is no submission fee. A temporary publication-fee waiver applies to eligible overseas authors. For this waiver, overseas authors are those for whom both the first author and corresponding author are non-Korean and affiliated with institutions outside Korea.
